Experience natural environment
Big Dog take its passengers on a relaxing journey along this quiet, scenic stretch of the river. The journey takes around 45 minutes each way and often includes sightings of local wildlife such as herons, marsh harriers, kingfishers and otters.
Big Dog operates up to five return trips per day during daylight hours throughout the spring and summer months, depending on weather and river conditions. Passengers can choose to get off at The Locks Inn to enjoy the riverside setting with a drink or food, or stay on board for the return journey. One-way tickets are also available for those who wish to walk to or from Geldeston along the river or across the fields along public footpaths.
Departures take place directly from the moorings beside Beccles Lido, making the ferry a charming addition to a day spent swimming, walking, or simply enjoying the riverside atmosphere.
